U.S. health authorities
have authorized new Covid-19 vaccine booster shots, modified to better target recent versions of the Omicron variant as well as the ancestral strain of the coronavirus.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended the shots from Pfizer Inc. and its partner BioNTech SE, and from Moderna Inc. for some
people who have already received a first series of Covid-19 vaccination. The move came shortly after the Food and Drug Administration authorized the shots, which are available across the U.S.
